Surface Treatments of Aluminum Alloy Die Casting Parts (Part Two)

2. Baking Finishes
The real baking finish uses phosphatized aluminum alloy to paint the workpiece, and then bake the painted workpiece. This kind of coating not only has corrosion resistance, but also has bright colors and wear resistance. It is not easy to peel off.

The pre-treatments of baking finishes are degreasing, water scrubbing, rust cleaning, washing, surface conditioning, water scrubbing, phosphatizing, water scrubbing twice and baking. The purpose of the pre-treatment is to get good coatings. Oxide scale, dust, rust and corrosive substances will be on the surface of the workpiece due to manufacturing, processing, moving and storing of stamping parts. If the substances are not removed, they will directly affect performance and appearance of the film. Therefore, the pre-treatment plays an important role in the painting process.

3. Spraying
Spraying is used for coating the surface of industrial products, and its processing range includes ordinary spraying, PU spraying and rubber painting of electronic products.

4. Oxidizing
Conductive oxidation is suitable for surface oxidation of aluminum alloy, and anodic oxidation is applicable for aluminium products and aluminium profile. Generally, aluminum alloy's oxidation have colors of natural and sky blue. Anodic oxidation is a kind of electrochemical reaction under high voltage; conductive oxidation does not need to set up an electric circuit, and it can be managed just by solution soaking, which is a kind of pure chemical reaction. Anodic oxidation takes a long time, often dozens of minutes, while conductive oxidation only takes dozens of seconds.

5. Abrasive Blasting
Spray a layer of fine sand on the surface of aluminum alloy products to enhance friction coefficients of contact surfaces and improve reliability of connections. There are thick and thin sands, and grains of sands are also very different.

6. Electroplating
Electroplating is a process that uses electric current to make metal or alloy deposit on the surface of the workpiece, forming metal layers with evenness, compactness and good adhesion. The simple explanation of electroplating is a change or combination of physics and chemistry.
Electroplating processes are generally used for anti-corrosion, protective decoration and wear resistance.
